Bounce it!

What surface makes a ball bounce the highest? Help your child pick one ball that bounces. Look around with your child for three different surfaces to bounce a ball (a rug? hard floor?) Next, get paper and a pencil and write down the numbers 1, 2, and 3. Ask your child to guess which surface will make the ball bounce the highest, medium, and the lowest. Making a prediction, or guess, is an important part of asking questions like a scientist. Then bounce the ball on each surface and see if the guesses were correct!
