Stack It Up!

From the time children are babies, they love to stack things–and usually knock them down!  Stacking things up and knocking them down involves math and science skills (measurement, balance, and making a prediction.)

Activity

Stack of large bottle capsAsk your child to find some items in your home that they can (safely) stack, like pillows, cardboard boxes or blocks. Next, ask them to guess how tall they can make a tower. Then go ahead and try it! Is it taller than their prediction? When they are done, count to three and knock it down!
